Rainbow Salad is a 2SLGBTQ+ collaborative made of 10 organizations from the Peel Region working in the community service sector. This website seeks to champion meaningful 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion by taking a community-based approach to equality. The previous website was not accessible, had security vulnerabilities, and limited the website administrator’s ability to edit media, page layout and other standard facets of content management.

Solution
Rainbow Salad required a vibrant website that complied with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and would allow administrators without programming knowledge to effectively manage their website. Sandbox created a custom design and built the new Rainbow Salad website using the WordPress content management system. News articles, posts, and blog entries were migrated to the new website. A service provider directory was implemented to highlight groups, clinics, and other programs available in the area.
Outcome
The new Rainbow Salad website is an online hub of educational, support, and promotional material for the 2SLGBTQ+ community within Peel region. It offers information on sexual, physical, and mental health. It showcases events like book clubs and youth groups and promotes all of its offerings through the website's social media integration.
Sandbox worked with Rainbow Salad to accommodate their budget and deliver a brand new website within their 10 week timeline.
