St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph (SJHCG) is a leader in providing outstanding health care and support to residents, patients, families and the broader community they serve. Inspired by the Sisters of St. Joseph, they are dedicated to compassionate care.
At the beginning of 2018, Sandbox Software partnered with design agency, Intent, to redesign both the SJHCG main website and their separate Foundation website.
The previous websites posed multiple challenges and used an inflexible platform that made day-to-day changes almost impossible. The platform did not integrate well with the Foundation’s Blackbaud Online Express (donation software). It was difficult to tell the St Joseph’s story due to the inefficiencies of the site.
- Introduce new branding and advance SJHCG's position as a key contributor to the health care system
- Offer an easy-to-navigate, responsive website that tells the SJHCG story in a compelling way
- Develop the website using a flexible content management system that can be updated by internal staff
- Support the Foundation in sharing the work of SJHCG, and inspire community leaders to donate in support of the Health Centre
Solution
Sandbox facilitated several engaging digital strategy workshops that included both internal and external stakeholders from SJHCG. Intent created a visually compelling and responsive design. SJHCG selected WordPress as their content management system due to it's ease-of-use, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility. Website content was reviewed and refreshed before being migrated to the new information architecture established by Sandbox.
Outcome
The new SJHCG.ca provides easy access to information based on audience profies (patients, residents, participants, families, professionals and donors). The new Foundation website was integrated with Blackbaud to facilitate online donations. Sandbox tailored the user experience to allow donors flexibility in their donations, including the options for one-time or monthly gifts.
With a preference for an open source content management system, SJHCG selected WordPress. The CMS allows different areas of the website to be easily updated by users with different permissions.
