Sepsis Canada is a research network made up of researchers, health care providers, trainees and patient partners from across Canada, with a wide range of expertise and experience. The organization and its members work together to improve the awareness, care and recovery of Canadian sepsis patients. To best reflect their mandate, support their members and the public, Sepsis Canada needed to redevelop their dated website. Their original website was very slow, did not function as intended, and ranked poorly in search engines which limited visibility for the organization. To address these challenges, Sepsis Canada partnered with Sandbox Software to redevelop their website.

Solution
Based on the needs of Sepsis Canada and its members, the organization chose to build their new website in the Oasis for Healthcare Website Template. This template provided Sepsis Canada with all the required functionality and features they needed to support their network and promote the organization. Sandbox worked with Sepsis Canada to identify their aesthetic preferences and applied the appropriate colours and styling to ensure the new site reflected their brand. Several Quality Assurance measures were taken to ensure the new website was WCAG compliant and functional across various browsers and devices. In addition, the new website now has job postings, extensive research information, bilingual capabilities and more. The template solution allowed for a rapid development life cycle, allowing Sepsis Canada to quickly replace their dated website.
Outcome
The new Sepsis Canada website better serves its members through online registration, detailed research study profiles, a funding opportunities database and relevant news and events. The site is also better suited to promote the organization by better reflecting the organization's mandate and impact. The site now ranks in search engines, is accessible, mobile friendly and provides bilingual support. The new website is also easily managed in the Oasis Content Management System.
