Glen Eden Ski and Snowboard Centre in Halton Region is the third busiest ski hill in Ontario. To better serve its ski and snowboard community, Conservation Halton was looking to update the Glen Eden website to enhance the user experience while provide engaging and timely information including slope conditions and key dates/events. The site would also need to showcase the exciting snow adventures Glen Eden provides to skiers and snowboarders.

Solution
Discovery activities surfaced the need for the new website to accurately reflect the Glen Eden experience. This would help promote the Centre as the exciting destination for winter sports that it is. The site would also need to provide up-to-the minute information around lift and run conditions while dramatically improving the experience of purchasing season or day passes. Glen Eden team members also wanted more flexibility in updating the website on their own. In partnership with design agency Intent, Sandbox Software worked with Conservation Halton staff to design, develop and launch a website that sets Glen Eden apart.
Outcome
Through effective use of photos and images, the new Glen Eden website reflects the adventurous and fun atmosphere offered at the ski and snowboard centre. The website supports skiers and snowboarders in purchasing their season passes and in planning their trip to Glen Eden. Visitors can quickly identify slope conditions including the number of lifts and runs that are open at anytime. The new site also promotes activities and events held at the Centre including their exciting snow school programs. The new site is accessible and mobile friendly. Finally, Glen Eden staff is empowered to make updates to the site through the easy to use WordPress Content Management System.
The Glen Eden website is built in the WordPress Content Management System. This easy to use platform allows administrators to effortlessly create new pages, manage page components and complete routine maintenance and updates without the need for a developer.
