Unity Health Toronto is Ontario’s largest Catholic health network and is comprised of three health centres including Providence Healthcare, St. Joseph’s Health Centre, and St. Michael’s Hospital. Project drivers

As a new health system, it is important to have a unified website to serve as a vital bridge for communication and community engagement. Through this website initiative, Unity Health Toronto wanted to provide a single, cohesive platform where patients, families, and staff could easily access essential information.

What we accomplished

This project involved significant engagement with service users and Unity team members to ensure voices of the communities and the health centres were reflected in the new website. In designing the site, we needed to reflect the new organization’s brand while promoting the value offered by the health system. At the same time, the website respects the unique histories of each health centre and their roles in their local communities.

The new accessible and mobile-friendly website features a concierge navigator, location profiles for each centre with directional tools, a resource library, an areas of care program/service listing, and a physician directory among other features. Overall, the website played an integral role in the establishment of a new health system by presenting a streamlined and consistent online presence. With this website, Unity Health Toronto can now effectively communicate its expanded capabilities to the wider communities that it serves.
