About our partner

The Mackenzie Health Foundation serves as an essential source of funds and resources for Mackenzie Health, a regional healthcare provider serving more than a half million people across York Region and beyond. Mackenzie Health’s two primary sites, including the new Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, have a full-service emergency department, core services and specialized services.

About the project and project drivers

Sandbox redeveloped the Mackenzie Health website in 2021 in Oasis, Sandbox’s propriety content management system. After conducting a website audit, competitor analysis, accessibility review and discovery activities on behalf of Mackenzie Health Foundation, Sandbox issued a Recommendations Report, and using the finalized Report as a guide, Sandbox and the Mackenzie Health Foundation worked together to redevelop the existing website, curating a refreshed website that enhances the donor journey.

What we accomplished

In March 2023, Sandbox launched the new Mackenzie Health Foundation website. Potential donors and previous donors now benefit from efficient page load times, new accessibility tools, and the concierge tool, which allows for site visitors to find all of their information quickly and read all content with ease. To showcase their donors, the Foundation site has been developed with a robust donor wall, to recognize and illustrate the appreciation that they have for their donors. To facilitate receiving donations, the Foundation site is also tightly coupled with AKA Raisin donation management software. Overall, the site achieves the Foundation’s desired functionality, and allows for users, of all types, to access information and make donations.

Sandbox continues to maintain our relationship with Mackenzie Health Foundation through our hosting services, as well as through the Sandbox maintenance and support program.
