The KidsAbility Centre for Child Development (KidsAbility) is dedicated to supporting over 17 000 children and youth with disabilities through a family-centric approach. At KidsAbility, they strive to connect families to vital resources, programs, and supports all throughout Ontario.

About the project and project drivers

As their previous website no longer met the strategic or operational goals of the operation, KidsAbility was looking to re-imagine the delivery of their services and seeking a website that would support their expansive visioning. In redeveloping their site, KidsAbility aimed to offer a seamless and intuitive experience for site visitors, supporting them in accessing the vital resources and information provided by KidsAbility.

What we accomplished

KidsAbility partnered with Sandbox for a variety of discovery activities, including a comparator analysis and journey mapping. Sandbox captured user and organizational desires, ensuring that the site’s new information architecture would enhance navigation pathways, all while striking a balance between KidsAbility’s branding, visuals, and text.

In January 2024, Sandbox launched the new KidsAbility website and site visitors could now quickly and easily navigate through the concierge menu which streamlines user types. With the implementation of text resizing, contrast toggling, and multilingual support, all information on the site is accessible to KidsAbility’s diverse audiences. Not only does the new site provide visitors with an easy-to-use platform, but back-end users also benefit through Sandbox’s custom content templates.

KidsAbility’s custom-built solution is geared for scalability, supporting rapid enhancements and future development. Sandbox is lucky to continue our collaboration with KidsAbility through Sandbox’s hosting services, as well as through our maintenance and support program.
