Hamilton Health Sciences is truly a unique hospital network as they are leaders in healthcare research and are the only hospitals in Ontario that provides specialized care for all ages.
About the project
In redeveloping the website, Hamilton Health Sciences wished to elevate the user experience by optimizing the website’s content and information architecture. This aimed to address content relevancy, redundancy, and navigational clarity. With the objective of providing a more user-centric experience, providing site visitors with a more intuitive and engaging online experience, Hamilton Health Science wanted to ensure that all site visitors could access information with ease.

With the objective of providing a more user-centric experience, providing site visitors with a more intuitive and engaging online experience, Hamilton Health Science wanted to ensure that all site visitors could access information with ease.
What we accomplished
Sandbox supported Hamilton Health Sciences throughout the website development lifecycle, providing discovery and research activities to generate recommendations for features, flow, information architecture, and page structure. A significant amount of time was spent on the information architecture and dramatically reducing page count, reviewing content, and establishing a migration strategy which was supplemented by supporting tools provided by Sandbox.
The site was built in the WordPress content management system and streamlines the user experience, especially for patients and their families, by integrating the organization’s most utilized microsites under one website. This has allowed the organization to reinforce the HHS brand across all hospital sub-sites, reduce the publishing of redundant information across sites, and cleverly allowing for unique branding opportunities.
