About our partner

Founded in 1983, the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) was formed as a response to the panic surrounding a new illness. As a terrible stigma was following the individuals who had this new illness, there was a clear lack of support. With the formation of ACT, affected individuals were provided with support.

Today, ACT is Canada’s largest HIV service organization, comprised of thousands of volunteers and supporting organizations. They continue to provide support to those living with HIV, all while defending against the stigma that has been associated with HIV.

About the project

Given ACT’s important role in educating their community about HIV infections and the steps to prevention, ACT’s website required a redevelopment as to allow for all users to access critical information quickly and easily through a modern website.

What we accomplished

Design and developed in the WordPress content management system, ACT’s new website is now a flagship for ACT’s digital properties while it works to increase volunteer hours, expand communications, and increase the number of supporters for the committee.

As part of Sandbox’s Amplifying Good program, all costs associated with the discovery, design, development, and launch were covered by Sandbox. Sandbox is proud to maintain our relationship with ACT through Sandbox’s managed hosting services and maintenance program.
