Sandbox Software Solutions Celebrates 10th Year Anniversary

Happy Anniversary, Sandbox Software Solutions!

Sandbox Software Solutions Inc., a regional leader in the development of functionally enriched websites, custom (and mobile) software solutions and digital strategy, just passed an important milestone in its corporate history – the 10th year anniversary of its founding.

 

Ten years ago, Sandbox co-founders Mark George and Devin Gauthier, soon to graduate from programs in Computer Science at the University of Guelph, set out to make summer jobs for themselves by creating a summer company as part of a program directed by the Guelph-Wellington Business Enterprise Centre. They pledged, at the time, to create a company focused on meeting real needs, decoding the black box of web technologies, and treating clients with integrity to achieve 100% customer success.  Sensible pricing and customer service were part of the vision of the fledgling company. The company continued after the graduation of the co-founders, and grew, surviving the economic downturn and a range of changing technologies and platforms.

 

Critical to the success of Sandbox Software Solutions has been the development, by its talented team, of the OASIS (formerly INTRATUITIVE) web content management system.  The OASIS web CMS is a robust, secure, and easy-to-use content management system, written in Java, that enables licensees to manage their websites, web communities and intranets.  The introduction of version 7 of the CMS in December 2013 coincided with the launch of a redeveloped website with St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (www.stjoes.ca); the newest version, renamed OASIS, includes many usability enhancements to create a true drag-and-drop web page creation experience.  OASIS (and its predecessor, INTRATUITIVE) has been deployed in more than 200 websites over the past 10 years.

 

Recently, Sandbox Software Solutions has introduced several new product and product frameworks. The first of these, Case Swarm (www.caseswarm.com), is an online learning product available both as Software-as-a-Service (Saas) and on an installed basis, that supports team learning through the social exploration of scenarios of work (or case studies). Slide Swarm (www.slideswarm.com), another recent product still early in its life, solves the commonly-experienced problem of group PowerPoint slide review by providing a rich online environment that enables comment customizability. BoardConnex (www.boardconnex.com) is a platform, based on the OASIS web CMS, which provides boards and committees with access to a secure online environment to facilitate information and document sharing to and reduce paper waste in board governance. One of the most exciting frameworks introduced by Sandbox Software Solutions over the last 3 years is the Bonfire Learning Enablement System, an advance in e-Learning that provides enhanced online learner experiences and targets online learning to the gaps in the individual learner’s knowledge framework.

 

Over its 10 years, Sandbox has been pleased to partner with clients large and small, including local businesses in Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, and organizations with both Canadian and international reach.
